Hatori

Born on Valentine’s Day 2022, Hatori was the first Japanese Terrier to join my life and the one who sparked my love for the breed. He is a special, once-in-a-lifetime dog whose balance of drive, biddability, and sweetness makes him the ultimate companion. Moderate to high in drive with excellent food motivation, Hatori thrives in sport work. He has trained toward his IGP BH, competed in American Schutzhund scentwork, and enjoys running FastCAT.

Beyond his training, Hatori has also made history in the show ring. He was the first Japanese Terrier in history to earn an AKC Certificate of Merit (CM), with multiple group placements to his name. He has also earned placements in UKC, including a Terrier Group 1, and most recently achieved Res-CAC and Res-CACIB at the World Dog Show in Helsinki, Finland.

At home, Hatori’s people-focused, affectionate nature shines through. He is sweet, steady, and neutral with other dogs, and his very best friend is our resident Malinois, Aerith, who he grew up alongside. Hatori has already traveled to three countries, proving himself to be as adaptable as he is accomplished. He truly embodies everything I love about the Japanese Terrier: a loyal partner with both heart and talent.
